Winning Summer: Slay

Ladies!!! Slayed hair is the FIRST step to winning Summer.   Remember the last time your stylist slayed your hair so well it bought a tear to your eye? Well imagine that feel times a thousand. That's how I felt the last time I got my hair done. Breezie the Stylist ( https://galaxi-girl-hair.myshopify.com/ )  does my hair and it was everything dreams are made of... It is the most natural looking a weave has ever been, and I love baby hair so my baby hair was a super plus. I was able to run my fingers through it freely, I didn't have to cut my hairline out of my pics to hide a "line" or anything like that. I was able to go back and forth with middle parts, side parts, or even no part. My ponytail was popping and the curl pattern was magnificent. I combed water and leave in conditioner through it every few days to keep it looking fresh and cute. I got this style for my Cancun Jumpoff Vacation. Now don't get me wrong this hair style is HIGH MA

Letter to Me: Notes from 2016...

31...... So long!!! I had a love hate relationship with 31. I have been through the most changes in my life ever in this ONE year. Highs and lows. I've been through so many tests this year I need a diploma! Looking back I had no idea what a breeze my twenties had been.  A person I was once close to was arrested for domestic violence by strangulation. I knew this person for over three years and they never moved to hit me or be aggressive to me. Did I dodge a bullet? Maybe. I still felt responsible... like I didn't do enough... clearly I had nothing to do with their current situation, but I just hate to see people I have loved hurting. I felt helpless and sad and guilty. I experienced more helplessness at the news of one of my childhood friends being shot and killled by a homeowner as he attempted to rob them in the same neighborhood we both grew up in... I saw the headlines before I knew who it was and I thought, "geez, is the neighborhood that bad now?&qu

#LiveTravel: Dreams in New Orleans

So March was the month I chose to book a trip!! I went back and forth between New Orleans, Las Vegas, and Miami. Miami just faded to the end of the line and N.O. and Vegas where in a tight competition until someone told me it would be over 100 degrees in Vegas!! Oh no. N.O. it is!!! Here is what I found... Trip Details: A 3 Night, 4 Day DreamTrip Astor Crown Plaza in New Orleans Breakfast every morning at the Bourbon House Restaurant Mardi Gras World Tour Mask Making (Lunch Provided) Sips, Sights, and Sounds Night Tour Night of Drinks and Dancing on Bourbon New Orleans is truly a magical city... Maybe its all the legends that come from the perfectly boxed streets or maybe its just from the people who never left. Places like New Orleans force you to recognize things for what they are and forget about what they are not. I met an interesting couple on a rooftop pool... The man held some type of political office, somewhere in the north, but not New York. His wife was
