WEAR TO WORK

It has never been easy for me to find work clothes which is why I have had the same pair of work pants for about 3 years. Im 6'1 and I could be wearing a size 20 -24 depending on how the wind blows... so to find pants long enough and wide enough is a serious challenge. Most work wear for plus sized women is BOXY and ill fitted. We really have to MAKE IT WORK when it comes to work wear.
One of my favorite desingers to ever do it, Monif C, has finally come out with there very own WEAR TO WORK line!! YAAAAAYYY, now they don't have any pants yet but the dresses they have come out with are colorful and professional. The fit of Monif C clothing has always been perfectly taylored. Now most of the looks are not for the traditional office but overall the collection is great for the working woman. I have posted photos of my favorite pieces.

"Opal" Stripe Colorblock Dress $158.00 - The splash of pink on the shoulder is what really got me. The vertical lines are complimentary to a curvy figure and the length is perfect for work.

"Coby" Ponte Button Front Dress - Heather Gray $188.00 - The wrap dress is my FRIEND. I LOVE wrap dresses. The heather gray in this dress is perfect for a simple work look and of course the length is perfect.

"Melanie" Ponte Faux Wrap Dress - Fuchsia/Purple $198.00 - Now Melanie is my ULTIMATE work outfit. The color blocking is awesome and the diagonal touch on the skirt adds flare. My favorite color is pink so this one is me ALL THE WAY.

"Terry" Ponte Knit Colorblock Dress - Gray/Black $188.00 - Terry is the BOSS. Only a BOSS can rock Terry. Sharp lines in the color block with the traditional dark gray is perfect for any work setting. Get these looks HERE!!

Swim Thick with Francie Maupin

Francie Maupin has been sketching fashions since her preteen years so it was only a matter of time before she put together a line of her own. She introduces The Diva Kurves Collection by premiering, Swim Thick, a line of swimsuits geared toward curvy women. In a market where the bar for plus sized swimwear has been dramatically raised by Monif C, Nakki Muli, and Cacique, Swim Thick is pushing its way into the mix to make sure all the curvy ladies are covered, literally. Swim Thick will cover standard sizes but will also offer options for ladies with bottom heavy proportions so that they will be able to find swimsuits that fit their curves just right. The extra focus on the ladies with extra curves definitely sets Swim Thick apart from other plus size swimwear. We dig in deeper about Miss Maupin and the release of Swim Thick: How did you start? What triggered you to start a swim line? It seemed like every time I would enter a store or boutique and ask, "where are the plus...

#LiveFashion with Stylist Jackie Turner

Fashion is built on foundation. In order to look good from the outside you have to start solid. Words of gold from Jackie Turner, an aspiring stylist out of Atlanta, fashion is her life... Turner is on a mission to become a personal stylist. Her goal is to help women who struggle with self esteem by showing them how to accent their true selves through fashion. Turner believes that when women are able to see themselves in a mirror how they see themselves in their heads, the positive visions, they can begin to accept and express who they are freely. Turner has had to over come obstacles in her own life and so her theories are from experience. Bullying and mean girls had been part of her every day struggle until she realized that she had a voice. Once she started to realize that she was in control of who she was and that she did not have to be what they told her she began to form her own personal style. Soon other people n...
