  31...... So long!!! I had a love hate relationship with 31. I have been through the most changes in my life ever in this ONE year. Highs and lows. I've been through so many tests this year I need a diploma! Looking back I had no idea what a breeze my twenties had been.  A person I was once close to was arrested for domestic violence by strangulation. I knew this person for over three years and they never moved to hit me or be aggressive to me. Did I dodge a bullet? Maybe. I still felt responsible... like I didn't do enough... clearly I had nothing to do with their current situation, but I just hate to see people I have loved hurting. I felt helpless and sad and guilty. I experienced more helplessness at the news of one of my childhood friends being shot and killled by a homeowner as he attempted to rob them in the same neighborhood we both grew up in... I saw the headlines before I knew who it was and I thought, "geez, is the neighborhood that bad now?...

So March was the month I chose to book a trip!! I went back and forth between New Orleans, Las Vegas, and Miami. Miami just faded to the end of the line and N.O. and Vegas where in a tight competition until someone told me it would be over 100 degrees in Vegas!! Oh no. N.O. it is!!! Here is what I found... Dear Tashmere,   I'm 30 now... An official adult. No crying or break downs, at least not because of turning 30. It feels good to be older and have passed some of those early growing pains although I will miss some of those days of wreck less decision making. LOL These days I just can't justify those risks, but it's ok.  I was in love for a while, Dre, the first one I truly loved. I learned that I can't get anything out of someone that they don't have. I learned that loving someone with all my heart has absolutely no say so in them loving me back. I learned to take myself in consideration and to not allow myself to be swept up into my own feelings and to pay attention more. I learned that I can survive a heartbreak even though some days I thought I could not make it one more second. Sunday was The Curvy Fashionista Swim event in Atlanta, Ga. The event showcased beach wear for the full figured women.  @beccaetcswim @citychiconline @jibrionline @monifcplussizes @gwanbycharon @alwaysformellc  were some of the brands present This event is a breath of fresh air to the Atlanta plus scene. The plus community here is ready to support the industry and we want more events like this to attend. The "free" tickets sold out faster then a Beyoncé concert! Make sure you get on the mailing list so you can catch the next one.  1. Splish Splash The event was held literally on top of Atlanta. The view from the 16th floor of the W hotel in Midtown was spectacular and you could see it all while relaxing in the pool. I love water so this was right up my alley!
