#LiveFashion with Stylist Jackie Turner

Fashion is built on foundation. In order to look good from the outside you have to start solid. Words of gold from Jackie Turner, an aspiring stylist out of Atlanta, fashion is her life... Turner is on a mission to become a personal stylist. Her goal is to help women who struggle with self esteem by showing them how to accent their true selves through fashion. Turner believes that when women are able to see themselves in a mirror how they see themselves in their heads, the positive visions, they can begin to accept and express who they are freely. Turner has had to over come obstacles in her own life and so her theories are from experience. Bullying and mean girls had been part of her every day struggle until she realized that she had a voice. Once she started to realize that she was in control of who she was and that she did not have to be what they told her she began to form her own personal style. Soon other people n...

3 Take Aways: The New Barbies Don't Hold Their Weight in Plastic!

The new Barbies are a backhanded gesture to all women and the kids suffer. Barbie is a toy, just a doll. Barbie's body isn't real. That fact puts everyone on the SAME playing field. No one has a Barbie body so no one can reasonably be offended by the lack of body types she comes in... Since there is only one... She is not fat and she is not skinny... She is not tall or short... She is just Barbie. 1. I went to the website to see these "new" Barbies. I found that the "Tall" barbies were tall and skinny(according to the new scale). The "curvy" dolls appear to be short. Tall and skinny to short and fat. The new Barbies push the tall/skinny and short/fat stereotypes.  Giving her a select few body types that are "realistic" cuts out EVERYONE who doesn't fit. My 6'1 non hour glass shape is not reflected in the "new" line up.  2. Some little girl is out there looking at her 5'5 apple shaped mother like, somethings wrong wit...

Catching Dreams: That one time I was Whisked Away by Tidal

Catching Dreams When dreams come true...... Have you ever been asleep and had an awesome dream, one moment you are here doing something exciting and you blink then your somewhere completely different doing something even more crazy  exciting and as your reaching to grab someone's hand or to open a door you suddenly jolt awake- and its all gone..... Wait you try to grab a visual remember who was there and where you were but you can't because it's gone. No pictures no receipts nothing you can't even see it anymore but you know it felt magnificent!  Now what if that dream WAS real and not only could you remember it but you had pictures to prove it!!!! One morning I woke up to my phone beeping alerting me of an email... I hate that email beep because I get so much spam email it beeps all day and I hadn't  taken the time to figure out how to turn it off.  Ok, but it's what woke me up so I mind as well check it.  Mm mm  Tidal is emailing m...

Letter To Me.... Here at 30

Dear Tashmere,   I'm 30 now... An official adult. No crying or break downs, at least not because of turning 30. It feels good to be older and have passed some of those early growing pains although I will miss some of those days of wreck less decision making. LOL These days I just can't justify those risks, but it's ok.  I was in love for a while, Dre, the first one I truly loved. I learned that I can't get anything out of someone that they don't have. I learned that loving someone with all my heart has absolutely no say so in them loving me back. I learned to take myself in consideration and to not allow myself to be swept up into my own feelings and to pay attention more. I learned that I can survive a heartbreak even though some days I thought I could not make it one more second. I learned that I should be able to look myself in the face and stand behind the decisions I make and to not let anything take me too far from who I am. This was a tough one... I'm sti...

Tidal Gives Me Life..... And it's enough to share....

7:00am June 5, 2015 Chirp (my phone alert for email)(which I hate and have been trying to figure out how to get rid of) - I reach over and check the email.  "Tidal appreciates your business get back with us for information about our plans this weekend" I respond and Tidal calls; I give them feedback on how I almost canceled because I couldn't get my songs to repeat with creating a play list... We take that feedback seriously thank you for that... Well we are...... Flying you and a friend to SUMMER JAM!!!!! This is the BIGGEST RANDOM thing that has ever happened to me and excited doesn't remotely describe what I feel!!!!!   My life IS a Fairytale!! This is so crazy. I downloaded the app as soon as I heard it was available. How could you not support artists supporting other artists. And besides Beyonce AND Rihanna had songs only available through Tidal. I was sold. I was using another service a way so as long as Tidal proved to be useful I didn't mind switching and ...

The plus community here is ready to support the industry and we want more events like this to attend. The "free" tickets sold out faster then a Beyoncé concert! Make sure you get on the mailing list so you can catch the next one.  1. Splish Splash The event was held literally on top of Atlanta. The view from the 16th floor of the W hotel in Midtown was spectacular and you could see it all while relaxing in the pool. I love water so this was right up my alley! The swimsuits that the guests wore were fun and people were actually IN the water. 2. For me!? The giftbags were off the chain! We got jewelry from LiveLavishAccess, Band-aids J. Crew style, hair products from Dr.Mir...
