COUNTDOWN: 8 days till FFFWEEK!!!

The Right White

Have you been able to pull your white outfit together for the "Curves at Sea" All  White Dinner/Dance Cruise. I hope so, if you haven't you are playing it a bit too close for me. BUT!! I'll help you out anyway. The All White Cruise is arguably the most anticipated event of FFFWEEK. There is something about seeing everyone in there crisp clean white outfits that is just mezmorizing. It's the first ticket to sell out every year.

a. Go the Custom Route. If you have never had a dress made to fit YOUR body you are at a definite disadvantage. Especially when it comes to white clothing. The color itself just isn't very forgiving. So the time and skill that is put into a custom white outfit is WELL WORTH IT. This year you may have missed most deadlines to start a full custom piece, but you still have time to have your outfit altered. Alterations can be done at most dry cleaners. Hemming a skirt or taking in a pair of pants at the waist could be just the thing to give your outfit the perfect POP!

b. Online Orders. You still have plenty of time to order a gorgeous dress online. Macy's, Nordstrom, and Monif C still have a very nice collection of white dresses that would be perfect for FFFWEEK.

c. Be on a Budget. Let's be honest. FFFWEEK can get expensive. It can be difficult to be a fashionista on a budget, big it is possible. Remember ladies, less is more. Forever 21 and Figure to Fashion
are two brands that offer chic selections at cheap prices.

Whatever you do make sure you get something that you are comfortable wearing. The boat ride is a few hours long and the wind will be strong. Once you are on the boat the last thing you want to worry about is having to constantly adjust your outfit. Prepare to dance, eat, be merry, and take pictures!!!

Swim Thick with Francie Maupin

Francie Maupin has been sketching fashions since her preteen years so it was only a matter of time before she put together a line of her own. She introduces The Diva Kurves Collection by premiering, Swim Thick, a line of swimsuits geared toward curvy women. In a market where the bar for plus sized swimwear has been dramatically raised by Monif C, Nakki Muli, and Cacique, Swim Thick is pushing its way into the mix to make sure all the curvy ladies are covered, literally. Swim Thick will cover standard sizes but will also offer options for ladies with bottom heavy proportions so that they will be able to find swimsuits that fit their curves just right. The extra focus on the ladies with extra curves definitely sets Swim Thick apart from other plus size swimwear. We dig in deeper about Miss Maupin and the release of Swim Thick: How did you start? What triggered you to start a swim line? It seemed like every time I would enter a store or boutique and ask, "where are the plus...

#LiveFashion with Stylist Jackie Turner

Fashion is built on foundation. In order to look good from the outside you have to start solid. Words of gold from Jackie Turner, an aspiring stylist out of Atlanta, fashion is her life... Turner is on a mission to become a personal stylist. Her goal is to help women who struggle with self esteem by showing them how to accent their true selves through fashion. Turner believes that when women are able to see themselves in a mirror how they see themselves in their heads, the positive visions, they can begin to accept and express who they are freely. Turner has had to over come obstacles in her own life and so her theories are from experience. Bullying and mean girls had been part of her every day struggle until she realized that she had a voice. Once she started to realize that she was in control of who she was and that she did not have to be what they told her she began to form her own personal style. Soon other people n...
