9. Prepare to Network
The networking at FFFWEEK is the best I've seen. Whether you are a blogger, producer, model, or an attendee the possibilities of great connections abundant.
How to connect:
a. Bring cards!! Do you have business cards? Even if you don't have a business you can have cards with your personal info on them to make exchanging info quick and easy. There is still time for you to order business cards. My favorite site so far is VistaPrint, they always have great sales and the quality has never let me down. Also there is a site called ClubFlyers, this site gives you FREE cards. The catch is that the back of the card has their advertisement on it and you have to pay for shipping.
At the end of the night you can use an app called CamCard to retrieve the info from the cards you have collected. This app is your best friend when it comes to networking. You just take a picture of the card and it saves the number to your contact list for you. It's great!!
b. Do some research!!

b. Do some research!!
Find out who the designers, bloggers, models, and staff are so that you will have an idea of who you will be around. Social media is your best friend for this part. You can search for people who are involved in the plus sized industry and who are attending FFFWEEK. People from your favorite shoots and magazines will be there so you will recognize the faces, knowing their names and a little background information couldn't hurt.
c. Speak Up! You may not be used to speaking to "strangers," but remember we are attending FFFWEEK for a reason. Everyone is coming prepared to network and meet new people. Don't be afraid to speak and share your thoughts. Show that you have ideas and let people know exactly what you have to offer.
d. Follow-up!! Don't make all these great contacts and just let them fall by the wayside. You must follow up. Send emails and text messages expressing how glad you are to have made a connection. In your follow up messages refer to the things you talked about when you met. Don't wait until you need something to pick up the relationship, because that is one if the quickest ways to kill a relationship. Interact with the people you network with on a regular basis to build genuine friendships.

Most importantly have fun ladies and gents. Great people beautiful clothes and city that never sleeps is a combo that can't go wrong. Prepare to have the time of your life. I know I will!!
